The 2018-19 playing season for Under 12 & 13 is as follows:

Start date: Saturday 31st October 2020

Last playing day before Christmas: Saturday 19th December 2020

Restart post Christmas: Saturday 13th February 2021

Final playing day for season: Saturday 27th March 2021

Saturday morning games generally start at 9.30am (9.15 toss) Priority 1 time but due to ground allocations on occassions Priority 2, 12:30pm or Piority 3, 3:30pm times may occur and afternoon games (Limited Over 30 overs) start at 12.30pm (12.10pm toss). We recommend that all players bring a snack and drink to help energy levels. The format for the competition varies slightly for each grade; all playing rules and Draws can be viewed online at the Auckland Cricket association website.

Under 13 grade will run full season, but will be split into two half-seasons and require teams to re-enter after Christmas. This is to take into account the fact that these players move onto secondary school in the second half of the season and some will likely be playing secondary school cricket. The half-season re-entry allows clubs to establish how many players they will have returning to play in the Under 13 grades and, if necessary, alter the number of teams they wish to re-enter. In the school competition period after Christmas these Under 13 grades will start at 1.45pm on a Saturday afternoon and change to using a full size 156g ball.

Subscriptions for Under 13
Because Under 13 is split into two half seasons due to the school situation of the players either a half season fee of $100 or full season of $180 can be paid depending on the player’s situation.

Under 12 & 13 have mid-week practice session organised by their Parent Coach at a time that suits. In addition the Club will schedule the Director of cricket to assist with this regular team net coaching session’s .A coaching schedule for each team will be posted at the start of the season. All team parent coaches are encouraged to attend ACA Coach Qualification programmes. Details of these will be advised throughout the season.

Playing uniform – playing gear:
Children must wear the Kumeu Cricket Club polo shirt & KCC Cap which are able to be ordered online on the registration form and collected from the club house. Suitable footwear, such as sneakers, should be worn. White long pants are to be worn as these are often more comfortable when wearing cricket pads. A sunhat is essential. For all hardball cricket, the Club’s policy is that all players must wear a cricket helmet when batting and suggest that they acquire their own helmet to ensure best fit. While many players in these grades have some of their own playing equipment all teams are supplied with enough equipment to cater for players without their own gear.
