About Kumeu Cricket Club

Kumeu began as a country club playing arranged fixtures in 1943. After the end of World War Two, Kumeu joined the Kaipara Cricket Association in which it competed until 1954. Kumeu had teams competing in both the Kaipara and Auckland suburban competitions for a further two more seasons before moving to playing solely in the Auckland Suburban Cricket Association.

Kumeu played from 1953 to 1961 in the Auckland Suburban Cricket Association, winning through the grades and eventually being promoted to the top grade (Senior A). Kumeu Cricket Club joined the Auckland Cricket Association (ACA) in 1962/63. In 1993/94, Kumeu along with five other clubs left the ACA and joined the North Harbour Cricket Association.

Two years later, North Harbour’s bid to be the seventh major association in New Zealand Cricket fell over and Kumeu returned to the ACA again. At the moment Kumeu Cricket Club’s men’s team plays in Auckland Cricket Premier T20 competition, Auckland Cricket Premier Reserves minor One Day and Two day grades. 2nd team plays in B2 and the 3rd Team plays in B3 competition.
